Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

Objectives:

The objectives of the Internal Complaints Committee for Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace are as follows: 1. To develop a policy against sexual harassment of women at the institute.
2. To create a permanent mechanism for the prevention and redress of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender-based violence at the Institute.
3. To ensure the implementation of the policy effectively and to follow proper procedures for the complaints and their follow-up.
4. To promote an environment of gender equality, free from discrimination.
5. To create an environment that ensures deterrence of any act of violence, nature of sexual harassment, and psychological environment to raise awareness on sexual harassment in its various forms.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. To enquire into complaints received from female students or staff of the college.
2. To conduct various gender sensitization programmes.
3. To organize health awareness programs, solve women-related issues, and address complaints.
4. To organize self-defence courses for the women staff and students of the college community.
5. To conduct Women's Day Program, create social awareness about the problems of women, particularly regarding gender discrimination.
6. To deal with issues of Gender-Based Violence.
7. To impose penalties or punishment.
8. To deal appropriately with reported cases of sexual harassment, abuse, or discrimination, and take necessary action against the offenders.
